# Simpler setup, clearer usage, and faster pages

Setup now shows which Attio connections you need. Plan usage is clearer, and commonly used pages load faster.

## Understand what you are connecting

Setting up a Neon Deer app involves two connections, each with a different job:

**One connection gives Neon Deer access to the Attio data the app needs.** For Duplicate Detection, that means reading records so you can review possible duplicates and approve merges. For workflow tools and email alerts, it includes details such as your Attio workspace's member list.

**The other connects the app installed in Attio to your team's Neon Deer account.** Depending on the app, this enables checks when records change, Neon Deer steps in Attio workflows, or requests to send email alerts.

The setup page now shows these steps in the same order for each app, with a separate status for each connection. You can see what remains to be connected or what needs reconnecting, rather than guessing which part of setup is incomplete.

For example, connecting Duplicate Detection lets you scan existing records. Its separate automatic-detection connection lets Neon Deer check new and updated records as they change in Attio.

An administrator on your Neon Deer team completes setup. Follow the guides for [Duplicate Detection](https://neondeerdata.com/docs/platform/duplicate-detection/#getting-started), [Automations](https://neondeerdata.com/docs/platform/automations/#setup), or [Email Notifications](https://neondeerdata.com/docs/platform/email-notifications/#getting-started).

## Connect the right team and Attio workspace

Before you approve access, the connection page now identifies your Neon Deer team and the Attio workspace it will connect to. This helps if you work with more than one team or CRM workspace.

The Attio approval opens in another tab, so you can return to the setup page without losing your place. If access is refused, the page explains what happened and what to do next. The [connection guide](https://neondeerdata.com/docs/platform/#setup) covers setup and reconnection.

## See how much of your plan you have used

Neon Deer plans include allowances for features such as AI assessments of possible duplicate records. The updated [Usage page](https://neondeerdata.com/docs/platform/#usage) shows what your team has used, what remains, and when monthly allowances renew. It separates allowances that renew each month from counts of items you already have, rather than treating every figure as monthly usage.

For example, before asking AI to assess a large collection of possible duplicates, you can check how many assessments your team has left. Using up an allowance pauses the feature it counts, rather than stopping every app.

## Spend less time waiting for pages

Neon Deer pages load faster, particularly when you open [duplicate matching rules](https://neondeerdata.com/docs/platform/duplicate-detection/matching-rules/), [record pairs you have marked as Not duplicate](https://neondeerdata.com/docs/platform/duplicate-detection/reviewing-duplicates/#not-duplicate), plan usage, or [email-alert activity](https://neondeerdata.com/docs/platform/email-notifications/queue-and-settings/).

Layouts also fit narrower desktop windows more comfortably, with smaller layout and wording fixes across Neon Deer.

## Return to the team you were working with

Signing in now returns you to the Neon Deer team you last used. If you join a team that already uses Neon Deer, the home page gives clearer guidance so you can continue with your teammates instead of starting setup again.
