# Task deadline changed

Starts a run when a task’s deadline is set, changed or cleared.

**Attio events:** `task.created` , `task.updated`

## How it behaves

- Compares the full deadline value Attio returns with the stored prior value. The Deadline and Prior deadline outputs are truncated to the date.
- Needs a stored prior value for the task. The first event for a task the app has never seen stores the value and does not start a run.

## Errors

Triggers have no error branch. When something goes wrong inside a trigger, no run starts. See [Troubleshooting](https://neondeerdata.com/docs/platform/automations/troubleshooting/).

## Example

Alert the deal owner when a task deadline slips.

Clearing the deadline gives Change type `cleared` with no Deadline output.
